This is my 1st sump, it's a Sapphire 34.
It's under my 50gal low boy frag tank.

I need advice on how much water should I keep in the sump?
Should I raise or lower the water level.
There is an adjustable wall between the refugium and the return pump area.

Also in the photo is the return pump, I have set on level 2 right now.
I have not turned on the skimmer yet.

Any advice is always appreciated!

You need to start your skimmer. As it fills, the water level will drop.

As far as I know, the only way to adjust water level in your sump is by removing some water from the system.

You would typically use that adjustable wall to raise/lower water to suit your skimmer requirements.. see what your skimmers manufacturer recommends for water height.

Funny the manual didn't say, BUT the Coralvue web sites states: Recommended Sump Water Height: 7 - 8in
Very helpful thank you!

good looking out. i wasn’t sure of the sump features. but yes, adjust the water depth for the skimmer, then do a power out test to make sure you don’t overflow the sump!
