I have a 55 gallon reef tank and I hade a few questions about the water movement. I currently am running 2 hydor koralea evo 1150 power heads one on each end of the tank and I am also running a tunze wave box. Do I need all of this water movement It seems like I don't have a spot In the tank where there is low to moderate flow for the corals that need it. I don't have a lot of corals at the moment only some zoas and a few mushrooms with from what I am told like lower to moderate flow. I also have a LTA that wont stop moving with could be because of the flow and a feather duster witch seems to be doing just fine.

SPS need thst high of flow, you can actually dial it back a bunch more for LPS and Softies. Alot of LPS like moderate none direct flow and softies just waving in the flow are better off, instead of being pinned back from to much.

SPS corals high flow is very well needed but as for softies,Gargonians, some LPS moderate flow is wanted by the coral so I think you take a pump out and settle on two till SPS's get into your tank!! Hope that helps??

Ok so I think I will tank out one of the power heads and just run it with the wave box and 1 power head
