Hello! So I am newish to reef aquariums but started up a nano tank about 6 months ago now. Everything has been great but I had a weird nitrate spike a few weeks ago that sent my hammer coral into a great depression. It is finally doing much better but I want to do some preventative maintenece to try and prevent this from happening again.

So I was doing some reading and have seen people with like a duel pump from essentially a bucket and their tank to add water capacity. I think something like this might help but I'm not sure where to find the equipment for it. Or any suggestions I'm all ears.
Thanks!

Basically its a sump. the tank needs to be drilled or use a Hang On the Back overflow box. Its a nano version of any larger sumped tank.
What kind of tank do you have now? What kind of filtration? In my sumpless nanos (and Larger) I have always had HOB refugiums. Really helped with nutrients.
