Hello all! I started a Waterbox 10 Cube on October 28, 2022. Stock everything, live sand, dry rock.

Finished cycling around the end of November. Added a mesh guard and a Fluval Nano 20W light. I also added AquaBiomics live Reef rubble to the sump because they got a shipment in right when this tank was cycling.

Added a Royal Gramma and a tiny Springer Damsel, 4 astrea snails, a nassarius, and a few dwarf hermits. That will be it for this tank.

Two months old now. Dropped in my toadstool leather that I suspect was making life hard for the stony coral in my main tank. Also transferred my Kenya tree which will not stop dropping babies, so it’s been banished as well.

No skimmer, no dosing. Manual top off. Running about 10 nitrate and 0.02 phosphate, Alk 7-8. I will update as I add more coral. As it’s soft only, I’d like to add interesting specimens so if anyone has recommendations let me know!

Update: The toadstool has settled in (I tore it out of the other tank with my bare hands, he’s been a trooper.) Kenya Tree is still adjusting, it can drop all the babies it wants now, it’s easy to take them out. The Royal Gramma has come out of hiding and claimed the entire tank for itself.

Month 4. Everything I put in here is extremely happy. I credit the live rubble I started the tank on from AquaBiomics.

The Royal Gramma has excavated an entire princess pad for herself underneath the rock on the left. She even lets the Speingeri hide in there with her while I do maintenance. Otherwise he is not welcome lol.

Still hanging out at N 5-10 and P .01-.05 on nothing but filter floss and a small water change twice a month.

Hi there! This system has been through a lot of changes. I had a bad case of hair algae growing on the Marco rock that was not responding to any of my interventions.

I expanded to a 20 gallon long earlier this year, put in a skimmer and more rock, added a dosing pump of All-for-reef and an ATO. I have kept scrubbing the rock with a tile brush and it’s slowly getting better. The rock is starting to mature.
