I've started planning a tank upgrade and am thinking about choosing the Waterbox Frag 85.3.

I'd like to try a Triton method sump with a large refugium, so I'd need to modify the standard sump. The plan is to simply move the filter sock bulkhead and change it to a weir. What do people think?

So if I understand this, you're basically splitting the existing skimmer/reactor chamber in two by inserting a single vertical bulkhead - ending up with a refugium and skimmer/reactor chamber? If so, yeah - this should work. I might be inclined to move the heaters to your skimmer/reactor chamber, but otherwise it looks good.

Thanks for the advice, I was thinking of the Reef Octopus 110-S or Nyos Quantum 120 which will both fit in the smaller compartment.

I was also planning on using the Reef Octopus VarioS 4 as a return pump. I think this will have enough oomph to power a manifold-fed reactor as well if needed.
