Ok so I have wanted to put up a reef tank for a very long time and finally but the bullet. I’m setting this up in my office. I’ve been there a while and don’t see myself going anywhere anytime soon.
I purchased a Waterbox Marine X 60.2 as the title of the post says lol. My thoughts as of now are mixed reef. I don’t have a set in stone list of inhabitants yet other than once established enough I will have a Mandarin. I may even skip the clownfish all together. Here are some pics of my setup so far and a list of equipment.
Nero 3 (2) Powerheads
Aqueon Pro150 Heater (2)
Ecotech Vectra S2 Return Pump
Kessil 360N light
Reef Octopus 110INT Skimmer
Caribsea Special Grade Live Sand
Marco Rock scape (built by me)
Duetto ATO
Apex Neptune Classic (not running yet)
Motion activated under sump lights
Kraken Reef Lid
So far I’ve had a couple bumps in the road. The original Finnex heaters were crap and took the tank to 95 degrees the first night then dropped it to 68 the second night. So those went back. I also somehow dosed the tank to 3ppm on ammonium chloride with Dr. Tim’s One and Only. It’s been sitting there for the last 7 days. Not sure how long that’s gonna take to come down but we shall see.
