I only use 2 in my 90g. Enough flow for surface agitation and no dead spots.

I only use 2 in my 170 DT.

That said, maybe take a video, post it in youtube and link it here so we can all see what we're working with.

But it does sound like a lot.

Are they programmable or just “on”? What is each powerheads rated for? How much rock and what is your scape?
