a few years back my friends and i did a group buy from ultimatefrags. we bought 2 frags of a watermelon, i forgot what exactly they were called, but i think it was like "insane watermelon" or "LE insane watermelon" or something like that. i just remember the word insane. anyways, it doesn't look a thing like the pictures of it i googled and it's no longer listed on the website.

here's a picture of mine under T5HO's a couple of months ago before i sold it.

and here's my friend's who kept his under 70w halides that is now in my tank. it's coloring up really well.

can anyone help me out as to what it actually is?

Ultimates Insane Watermelon but there's also the Ultimates Watermelon. The UIW is MUCH brighter. Search on RC and you'll find some pix from Caddisfly

That watermelon came from Chris at Aquatic Central. From what I know, Rommel picked up two colonies from Chris. One of those colonies went to Matt at reefready. Matt started calling it his strawberry watermelon. I'm not sure what Rommell called his. Mark and Alicia got a piece of it from me. Maybe they have some info on it.

reefready's description says it has a grey patch, much like mine did.
