I am new to this, yesterday I added a live rock and although I don't usually turn off my aquarium light (usually just change from white to blue) I did last night and all sorts of freaky things started coming out the rock.... The thing was infested.... I researched and now know that most of the creatures were bristle worms but WHAT IS THIS?

Does it move ? Looks like it could be closed up zooanthids attached to a dead coral skeleton.
I don't know if it moved, it wasn't there last night, I woke up and there it was, I took it out of the tank because I didn't know if it was something bad

My vote its is zooanthids on a piece of coral rubble . If you have crabs or fish , they are the ones that found it and drug it into the viewing area for you to see it. My critters find all sorts of stuff from the nooks and crannies of the rock work. Numerous times I have added frags to the tank later to find that an added bonus was attached to it ...... 2 for ones without realizing!!!!

Thank you.... Should I glue it back to the rock?.... How long will it take to grow

Good trouble: Have mushrooms ever become pests in your aquarium?
