Wet side Jeboa DMP40...Is this normal or defective?

When I installed my new Jeboa DMP-40 it was LOUD. Nothing like the videos people have posted. The sound seemed to be coming from the wet side not the motor so I took it apart and was kind of surprised how this part just flops around. Is this normal or defective? Putting the screen back on secures this part down more but wondering if it's still what's causing the noise.

In the video/teardowns they show it flop/moving around.

yes it just slides back and forth on the shaft that is normal if you shake it. Once it is coupled with the dry side it locks the magnet prop in place

That part is normal but if it's loud during operation then you need to check that the back plate on the wetside is installed correctly so the shaft doesnt move.

Ran it for a while and it seemed to maybe “break in” and got a lot quieter. Also got some of the grease applied like Kalamazooreefer whatever on YouTube suggested. Guess it’s the same grease for the Vortechs.

one thing to check I found in one of mine. You can see the bottom plate in top photo with the bushing in the center. That bushing is just sitting in there in the rubber and can be pushed out. My one was slightly crooked and seem it would walk itself a tad and start hitting the magnet and then would push back in. Would happen ever so often till i noticed it. Once its pushed in nice and flat it doesnt make noise

Ya I saw that post about it. First thing I checked but found it perfectly straight and flush. Seems it just needed a week or two of break in as now it’s almost silent.
