I have a QT up and running with CP for prophylactic treatment on a coral beauty and a flame angel.

Today I got two purple tangs and had planned to divide the two. But when I put one in with the coral beauty - the CB was picking on the purple tang so much - not only was it swiping its tail at the tang, it looked like it was sitting on the tang.

I could have let them figure it out, but I thought I would give the tang a chance at least - stressed from shipping, stressed from new tank/environment... so I had no choice but to put the two purple tangs together.

At the time (this morning) - they seemed to be behaving. No aggression. This evening - I saw the two tangs play chicken with each other, but don’t actually come into contact; no tail swiping and there’s a lot of cruising around when they’re not doing that.

What’s better:
1) Let the coral beauty and a tang figure it out? Or
2) Keep the two tangs together for now?

They’ll all be going into my new 12’ build under way (along with some more fishes and corals).
