What’s coming out of my zoa?

Hi all, new here! I love browsing around on reef2reef for tips, answers and great pictures for inspiration.

I tried looking to see if I could identify what’s going on with my zoa, but the pics I came across all looked a little different... so here I am with a newbie question.

What’s coming out of my zoa? It looks different than all the other ‘poop/ extra zooxanthellae’ pictures.. it’s really tight to the mouth and has white edges....

Looks like its guts

Mesenterial filaments, or as mentioned above, it’s guts. Usually a stress reaction, though it can happen after completely superficial stressors, like being touched.

Thanks everyone. Looks like it settled and all the guts are back where it should be! Hopefully it doesn’t have long term damage.
