Bought this guy I’m March. QT with full copper treatment. Observational QT for 2 mths. Then into my 110g DT. He hid constantly in QT and I noticed the lesion on his face the day he moved to DT. Assumed it was an injury. The capture was rough on him. Eats fine. Skittish as always. The spot on his face had been growing and he also has a few others (see pics). Can’t figure out what this might be. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Forgive me for asking, but how mature is the 110g? Reason I ask is that those rocks look sparkling clean. That type of tang makes its living by grazing rocks all day. You said that it eats fine, but what is it eating? That type of utilitarian fish will do best getting his fill on tank algae, in my opinion. Reason I ask is because what you are seeing may be the beginnings of HLLE, and one theory on HLLE is improper diet, especially for natural grazers/vegetarians like tangs.

Tanks been up over a year now. Rocks look clean because there was a GHA outbreak so the rocks gotten taken out for treatment. Tank gets a variety of different foods including Nori (which the tang ignores), flakes, pellets, and raw seafood. Everyone eats well.
