I have a 53 G (18"x36" footptint). I have 4 trochus snails only for CUC. They spend most of their time on the glass and rocks and the sand bed, not so much.

What other snails do you suggest for cleaning the sand bed and how many of them in this size tank to compliment the 4 Trochus?

Thanks!

I personally would put between 5-10 in there....I am sure there would be a lot of different opinions though. They keep the sand bed stirred and free from detritus.

I like variety. I have 2 nassarius, 1 Tonga conch, couple of turbos, 10 Florida ceriths which I only see at night, couple of astrea and a plethora of pods and another kind of snail whose name escapes me. All do a great job in different areas. No hermits. Ate on my frogspawn.
