I'm planning on getting a blue girdled (also known as majestic) angelfish for my reef.

The place I'm going to buy from has both options in stock, sub adult (colors starting to change) and Adult.

Before today I would have picked the sub adult age to buy because of the lower price. But now they have the adult on sale for the same price.

What do you think?

Thanks

What would your reasoning be? I'm currently leaning towards getting the juvenile more (longer life, watching colors change, training (hopefully) to eat prepared foods) but if the adults have better success rates, it would probably be better for me to get an adult and not risk it with a juvenile.

Right now they are exactly the same price. Hopefully it lasts long enough for me to make up my mind lol!.

Most buy the juvis because they are cheaper. Most don't want to wait for the color changes, they want the adult colors. One such would be the Emperor Angel, people just can't wait for those babies to change. Most are already eating prepared foods if the've changed, because most have been in captivity for a little bit of time, somewhere at least.

depends on the size of your tank and what fish you already have?
