for the bits you are able to scrape off with tweezers, it is likely it could be coralline algae. for the green/red mats of "fluff" with some air bubbles, its cyano.
Are you sure it’s cyano? Isn’t some coralline also green sometimes? Also which red mats are you talking about? Could you maybe screenshot and circle the part?Extreme Water Clarity and Cyano Eradication, Made Easy!

Hey, so I just used some tweezers to scrape the algae. The green one isn't really a hairy or stringy type and just kind of gets scraped off, kind of hard to scrape it off I think because of the rock shape. Also I don't know where you are seeing air bubbles on that one because I don't see any, maybe you might be confusing it with the little white dots which are actually just really small bits of rock since my rock is white and it probably got there from me scraping rock. As for the purple/pink algae, the ones near the green algae do come off with a string like when I scrape it, it just kind of hang like a string. Pretty sure that is coralline. And for the green algae, I think it might just be the basic green algae that people see.Extreme Water Clarity and Cyano Eradication, Made Easy!

Tank was started middle of october. I had to do a fallow between november first and end of december because of brook. I have had diatoms for about 2-3 weeks and they still haven't went away on their own. I know that these things are normal, just don't want anything potentially killing my coral or anemones.
So just leave it alone? I will be doing a water change this weekend as I need to do one as I haven't in 2 weeks.
Nuisance algae is a weak point of mine at the moment, but I'm inclined to agree that most of it looks like cyano to me.Could you check mine and let me know what type of algae it is?

I have diatoms right now which showed up about 2 weeks ago. Recently started getting these other algae’s such as the green and pink/purple ones. At first I thought maybe coralline because of the different colorations but I don’t think it is. Maybe cyano? They are not stringy or hair, and they...

Also any ideas on how to counter vermetid snails? There are like thin tubes that are hollow or something as they are easy to break off and then I have some red ones that are hard and those are on the corals. I took most of them off with some tweezers by cracking them. Should I just take the rocks out tommorrow and check everywhere for any, and if I see some I should just remove and then add the rocks back in after a little bit?

I just went though something similar and it turned out to be Cyano. My parameters are in spec and everything seems good, but it kept growing. I ended up using chemi-clean to remove it, along with microbacter7. If your parameters are way off or if the tank is new, doing this may mask the issues at hand, but if you only need a head start, chemi-clean worked best for me.I have diatoms right now which showed up about 2 weeks ago. Any pics of the tubes?
The brown ones are the ones that aren’t very hard and just come off it I pull them off. The red ones are hard so I am pretty sure the red are vermetids. I have a removed most of the brown ones already so sorry if the picture is kind of bad.
Tank is on the newer side I guess, it’s about 4 months old and I did a fallow for 1 and a half months so it’s not too old. Should I use anything yet or just wait? If I wait it would be more natural or I can use chemiclean to take it out right now. What should I do?
