What are the risks/rewards adding ocean water

Currently, the remnant of the tropical storm is passing over Wildwood New Jersey at the moment.

Tomorrow, I am going to get down to the beach and collect about 2 gallons of sea water. My thinking is because of the turbulence created by this storm, it's my best chance to get the cleanest water possible. After I do some testing & cleaning, my thinking is I can add some bio-diverse life into my system.

I know there's a risk, but I feel it's worth taking. Have any of you fellow reffers done something similar?

i would think just the opposite...everything would be stirred up and cloudy with fine particulates and runoff from storm water could lower salinity and increase pollutants and /or fertilizer nitrates from the shore...my buddy lives in myrtle beach and they close sections of the beach after storms due to coliform bacteria levels from sewage finding its way into the water...so i guess it all depends where you are planning to do this
