From what I understand the mesenteries forming beyond the outer ring of the zoanthid sometimes complete so new tenticles will appear before reaching the edge of the polyp. Anyone know if this is nutrient related and will the extra tenticle move to the edge or become reabsorbed? I will be watching closely to see what happens to them. I know this happens often, but have not found any info on it.
Here is a PPE getting extra tenticles.

Itd be funny to figure out what causes "siamese polyps" too. Ive got one thats 2 full heads, conjoined at a small section of skirt, and share the same "stalk."
