Right now I run an iwaki 70 md return pump
It's barely enough for my display so I was thinking about upgrading it to a 2-3000 gph pump
The new thing is dc pumps use less wattage and u can control speed
Can I use one as a external return pump if so which one
???

I am using 2 - DC10500 Reef Octopus pumps as my returns. Absolutely love them. I keep my tank around 75 with no heat issues from my pumps or my LED's.

Thanks AJ I've been trying to find info on these on my local Fourm no dice !
Which ones do u have ?
I have an iwaki 70 md ATM and wanna use that to pump water from my mixing station and the DC for main return

Your setup looks top notch how is it set up with 2 pumps??
Do u have a tank thread I can check out?

I have a guy on my local Fourm says he's used a few and they r very similar including jeabo my Lfs is getting the Jeabos in so I think ill give em a whirl

Ok so I was gonna plump in my new jeabo pump but recently saw a thread here where jeabo pump gave out and the guy said that after inspecting the seal it doesn't appear as if they can truely be run externally his leaked bad if that happened while I wasn't home it would be a big problem!

Should I ditch the jeabo DC 1200 get a regular return pump?
