I get a notification at like 9:40 pm that my skimmer float valve is on. I go to check whats going on. My skimmer cup is full to the top. And my ato dumped water around 0.37 according to redsea app 3 times in a row.

I fed hikari mysis 3 pellets put them in a rodi water mix them up a little and drop them in the tank. Fish eat. That was around 6-7 when i feed 3-4 hours later i get the notification about my ato and skimmer. Assuming my skimmer cup filled a dropped the water level in my sump, causing the ato till fill up? But why would that happen? After i dumped the cup of the skimmer, turned the skimmer back im hearing something weird in the pump. I take it out clean it. Now its working but is the frozen food because its oily? I dont get it not the first time i feed it

I don’t think it was the food because typically that reduces the skimmer’s performance. My skimmer does this same thing occasionally. It will be fine for weeks and then for some reason it will go crazy. I clean it and back it goes into service.
If this is a rare event, I’d keep an eye on it and hopefully the cause will become apparent next time?

Did your sump raise its water level and cause the skimmer to over skim prior to the ato kicking on? Do you have an LLS to graph the sump level?
