I have 2 midnight clowns in QT. They are very healthy and eat like horses. Liveaquaria says they are omnivores, but I gave them some reef frenzy and they picked out the algae.

I'd like to feed my cube nano frenzy (no algae) because all the other fish are carnivores.

Mine eat leftovers most of time had them for about 4 months .. they will eat whatever u feed ur other fish and pick out food floating in the water column .. a varied diet for ur other fish will help them since they will eat whatever the other fish don’t consume

besides my finger?
They eat anything. mine will eat the nori in my tank. I think it is all individually based. It probably takes awhile for them to eat everything. reef frenzy has a lot of algae.
I feed mine what I feed the rest of fish. nori, Myiasis, brine shrimp, spirinula and when i go on vacation they eat pellets from my auto feeder.

I have a pair of clowns that I switch between mysis and brine shrimp, and they're doing great. I don't really ever feed algae.

You can't get more varied than reef frenzy, I just don't want to have a bunch of uneaten algae in the tank.

Mine seem to love pellets, PE Mysis / PE Calanus and I see them picking at the rocks and glass all the time at what I'd assume are the pods.

I feed my fowler Larry's Chunky, but I think those pieces are too big for a clown, lol.

I'll feed whatever is adequate for them. I just don't think they want the algae, but if they need it I'll make sure they get it. If they are the only algae eaters in the tank, then maybe there will be enough on the rocks for them.

As stated above my female clown loves my hands and fingers when in the tank. Fornregular feeding they both eat frozen mysis and spirulina mysis and various pellet foods. They get frozen at night and several small feedings of pellets from the feeder durring the day. The pellet is new life spectrum small. Works well in the feeder and they eat it up. I have a few others to try for some variety. I am also going to try some other frozen foods over christmas week since i feel variety is good.

I guess the better question was "do clowns need to eat seaweed or Nori?"

I know they eat whatever meaty food I put in.

I don't think they require it - and they probably get some of the same nutrition by picking at the rocks around their home base. LRS also offers a blend called "Fish Frenzy", which might be more in line with what your tank needs.
