There's a lot to love, but let's talk about the main things that you appreciate about being a part of the reefing hobby! Maybe it's the beauty of your tank, or maybe the thrill of the challenge of keeping a small part of the ocean in your home, or maybe it's getting to connect with people you might not have known otherwise?

Let's discuss!

One aspect I appreciate is how we can take part in the ocean, have it in our house, and have it be sustainable for the life that lives in our tanks

Calm, amazement, education & self-satisfaction. Except when nothing is going right then it’s rage, anger & asking why did I spend so much *!”@#& money on this?

The fact that my wife loves it and appreciates me for doing most of the work.

The amazement that I can see part of what happens in the ocean. It also gives me an escape from life. I can just sit and stare at the tank. Its very relaxing

I love that once it’s running kinda stable you have to do some regular maintance task, but aside from that it’s up to myself if I find some new interesting aspect of this Hobby I want to read up on and by more fascinating stuff (corals, fish and critters, that have crazy looks and/or interesting habits, technical helpers that help with cool physical, chemical or electrical principals ) or just let it be as it is and watch and relax. I feel like there are so many sides of this hobby I won’t ever be finished with learning new stuff or being able to find a new project. I feel it’s like exotic gardening without the seasonal stress.
