What is he?

What tang is this? Got him a long time ago and not sure what he actually is, he looked a lot different when smaller

It's definitely something in the Dussumeri/Bariene/Yellowfin complex, maybe even A. Blochii.

You've got a Dussumieri Tang (Acanthurus dusumieri) there - no spots at the base of the fins by the tail (A. nigrofuscus); yellow fins instead of dark blue/black as well as a yellow tail stripe instead of a white one (A. blochii) [these can have white stripes, but the stripe being yellow eliminates some lookalikes); no blue marking behind the gill (A. fowleri); no black spot or vertical gold stripe behind the eye (A. bariene); and the yellow eye-stripe goes up from the eye instead of down from it (A. xanthopterus).

There are a few other tells between a few of these species (like the spotting on your tangs tail), but these are generally going to be good enough points to differentiate with.
