Hi everyone,

This is my first post to this site, woot woot! I am an educated reefer. Currently I am running a 90 gallon display tank with a 44 gallon corner tank refugium. Unless the parts are impossible to make I will usually build things myself because I feel it adds to the satisfaction of the hobby.

So anyway, about 2 months ago I purchased a dwarf fuzzy lion fish, being well aware of its dietary "requirements." His purchase size was roughly 3 inches and I understand will only grow up to 8 inches. I also know I will need to sell it someday. In regards to his dietary "requirements" I was under the impression it prefers to eat live moving foods.

I bought tiny feeder guppies and live shrimp for him for weeks on end. He was the only creature in my entire system that didn't go after the live foods I was providing. I also tried dried, pellets, flakes, and all sorts of food. His tank mates eat everything but I have never seen him eat a thing.

I understand they are nocturnal hunters, which might explain why I don't see him eating anything if he is feeding at night. By the time night comes all his live foods have been consumed by other fish. I have also not offered live foods in at least 4 weeks so I am sure there is nothing I purchased still in the tank. Obviously there are probably tons of pods, worms, and other little creatures living in the live rock. I am just curious if you all might know what he might be eating considering he looks well fed and is otherwise clearly healthy.

Thanks!
