Hello,

I have recently noticed algae growing. At first it was just a few here and there on the glass, now it has moved onto the rocks. It has "tentacle" arms all joining at a common point on the base. I am thinking it could be the start of aiptasia but the tentacles" are not smooth, they actually have some points growing out of them. They sort look like the freshwater Hydra.

Possible hair algae?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tom

Looks like green hair algae from the pictures. Do you have a clean up crew yet? What are your water parameters? How long has the tank been set up

Phosphates need to come up but if you have algae it’s probably using it up and our test it’s are reading it. If the CUC is not getting it you might have to pull it by hand.
