What is this? Newish tank.

I bought an established setup. 45 gallon. I had it about 2 week and changed to a 62 gallon all new sand. Am I getting diatoms? It's all brown on the sand, glass, filters etc. Just brown brown brown. Little tiny looking sticks on the sand bed. Very small.

When i transfered I used bottled water i didn't have an ro/di at the time. I do now and did a 5gal water change Sunday and been topping off with di.

Looks like the tank had a reset when changing over, or some algae that was in check has taken over. treat it like the ugly stage. Small clean up crew to start with

Just do water changes 10% weekly and ride it out?

that's what I would do
