What is this on my sand bed?!

I have this brown all over my sand and no matter how much I clean the tank or knock the lighting back it doesn't go away

Phosphates no readable on test, tank is newer so maybe sand is cycling...have plenty of flow

Can't see it in picture. But if you have sand and nothing to clean it like a diamond goby you will probably have algae on it. If you increase flow there it will help.

Mine always shows up between the power heads on side of my tank also. Now that I made A lid I am getting a diamond goby

It looks like diatoms to me. They are normal in a newer tank and will usually go away in a few weeks.

Ok cool I've been keeping up on water changes and skimming very hard

Nothing you can do about diatoms, they're also a low-light algae, so you can't really fight against them by turning the lights off. New tanks will always have diatoms, its completely fine and is a good sign your tank is maturing... They'll go away almost as fast as them appeared!

What's you water change schedule, and what's your livestock and cuc like? was this live rock or base dry rock. Also what's your nitrates and lighting? All contributing factors buy all come with a new setup. You can run some gfo or rowaphos to help in the meantime.

all started with live rock but did clean sand out when moving tank over

i am running gfo but maybe should add more?

If it is diatoms, gfo will not help. They feed off of silicates which are always present in new tanks. Once used up, the diatoms will go away.

However, I cannot tell if that is the issue from the pic.
