Every once in a while I see a film-like substance on the surface of the water. Attached is a pic. Any idea what causes it and how to get rid of it? Thanks.

Looks like oils, perhaps from your skin? Surface skimming or point a powerhead at the surface to break it up.

Do you feed frozen foods? Looks like an oil film, a skimmer or just some surface agitation should take care of it. In my FW tanks I've placed a piece of paper towel on the surface to pick up the stuff, but I'm not sure I'd want to put a paper towel in my salty tanks

Do you have an overflow box/weir? That should be removing all surface oils or substances along with surface agitation via power heads.
