Pulled out a couple of handful of these snotty looking stuff today, looks kinda purple brown, can someone kindly id? Thanks

cyanobacteria, also known as red slime algae

you can let it run it’s course with proper husbandry and more importantly flow…
or go the medical route with ab's which contain erythromycin, such as chemiclean…

but since it’s in your sump and not in your display…
i'd just leave it be and not fret over it

Ah thanks, this is the first time I picked out chunks of this, it had the consistency of jelly.
