Can anyone tell me what kind of coral this is??

My shot in the dark would be a small elegance coral, but that's my uninformed guess. Can't say I've seen a picture like that before.

Are those feeders or does it always look like that?

Nope not an elegance.....Elegance have a coral base that is shaped like a tooth and that tentacles are only on the outside edge of the polyp...Can you get a top down pic of it.....Is that fully open as well? Some more pic from different angles might help as well....

My guesses are Hydnophora sp. or Polyphillia (slipper coral).

Does not look anything like a elegance to me I have an elegance right beside it. The tentacles are always out like that. It's very cool

The structure of the coral looks like a Galaxia. I have a green one that look a lot like it.

It is definitely not a duncan. I have duncans. This does not have stalk either.

So is it pretty rare?? I looked up Hydnophora and all i keep getting is some kind of sps coral.

110 percent not a Duncan. I have about 200 heads of Dunds and they are no where near the coral that is posted. Duncans are LPS. The picture posted is an SPS.
No, I would not say that it is a rare piece. But, very nice. Blues are a little harder to come by.

It is not sps for sure. It's fleshy. It has to be an LPS as it's got a skeleton under the flesh.
Here are some more pics. I was told it was a carpet coral?? Anyone ever heard of it??
It does pull in food as i fed it mysis shrimp and it pulled it in and ate it. The color is blue but the center is like a greenish teal. Very cool

Most people classify it as a SPS, but some call it SPS-like. Hydnos I've had do have a lot of flesh compared to what we normally think of a SPS as having (like Acros, Birdsnest, etc).

There are branching and plating/encrusting versions of hydnophora, mostly seen in green, blue(ish) and pink(ish)... it's pretty hardy and extremely agressive when it comes to turf wars with other corals. The plating kinds are extra fun if you set em on the sand and don't properly glue other frags to the rockwork - they'll dive straight in and RTN usually before you notice.
