What is with this duncan head?

I dont know what is wrong with this duncan head. The face is super full of colour even in white light. The tenticles arent really there and others around it are very scrunchy looking. All the other corals and fish look good.

who knows? Maybe it gets less light on that side, maybe it gets more flow, maybe its getting ready to poop, maybe getting ready to sprout babies, maybe a hermit crawled over it..... its impossible to say why only one polyp would look weird compared to the others. I wouldn't worry thought, they look good overall, for me this is a 'lets see what happens' situation

Yes there actually is a small baby trying to grow under it... is it just irritated fro. Thst or something... weird

Yes, I believe that is what you are seeing. That’s what mine does when be heads start to get bigger. Then it settles out and of course when the next head grows underneath a current one it is then irritated. I would just watch it to make sure it’s not completely closing and staying closed bc then you probably have something else going on.

No it only closes at night and then its open in the morning again. Looks healthy otherwise... the tenticles have looked scrunchy since i got it, i just figured maybe it was from the way it was in the frag tank. But yesterday the tenticles looked like they were not really there and the colour on the face was REALLY coliurful compared to the rest of the heads.

Its looking better today though for sure. So either just a bad day or maybe it pooped.

I never worry about a single head. I don't know what I would even do to address an issue with a single head on a colony that wouldn't affect all the other heads that are doing good.
Not too long ago I had a new head grow out of the center of a presumed to be a dead head after it was dead looking for close to a year.

I have almost chucked a hammer and frogspawn that completely retracted for weeks and then suddenly on itty bitty tentacle emerged and they came back to life! I am totally with you on waiting and seeing!

Oh for sure im not gunna chuck them or anything and ive had the same thing happen with a hammer. Looked like it was doomed for death but ended up starting to open back up. I just wondered if maybe there was something like a flat worm or pest of some sort i should have been looking for.
