i suppose it depends on how you define rarest.
my rarest would be Acropora speciosa, loripes, caroliniana, jacquelinia, turaki, granulosa,

as far as named ones go...

i've had in my possesion:
-superman monti
-sunset monti
-leng-sy cap
-idaho grape cap
-flower petal monti cap
-tyree soli
-ORA purple pillow
-ORA australian delicate
-ORA scipps pink milli
-pink milli with blue tips
-some unknown coral that is green with blue tips
-yellow verracussa with blue polyps

but i think my rarest of those is my montipora undata, grows at a snails pace...but i dont know anyone else personally with it.

i think the rarest coral i have in my tank is a green polyped acropora geminifera. when its happy it has a purple base or tips. i've been growing it out since it was a 1cm frag. i've rarely seen people post pics of geminifera acros.

Here's a couple of mine that are some of my favorites.

M. undata. It actually grows pretty fast for me.

Too many to list and my pics suck so i'll spare you guys.
One thing i like about acro's is the tree like formations. A nice full tank with overgrown acro's is a sweet one. No matter haw many LE or rare corals are in it.

I don't really see any of these sps as being "rare" but they are nice corals

Here is a coral that most people don't have or want.

Up until yesterday I thought it was a sps. I never thought it was a jellyfish.none the less this is a cool thing. The way it grows is different than any other. The guy I got this frag from said it hurts as bad as a jellyfish sting.I have not tested it yet.

Cnidaria phylum
Fire coral is actually a relative of coral called a hydrozoan or hydroid or an animal related to coral that has two life forms—the polyp and the medusa. And as a hydrozoan, fire coral is more closely related to sea jellies than true coral.
