Agreed Derasa, nice score!

Yeah i told them(LFS) its not looking that great since its mantle wasn't out, they said it hasnt been for a while, so i said well ill take it for 20 if you want.

Soon as i got him acclimated he sure did open up and looks fine to me.
not the best of color but hey 20 bucks in this hobby is cheap.
 
Haha that's normal mantle extension for a Derasa. And IMHO it's a great color!
Well you know them lfs.. Hat'm but lov'm lol ,Its not a bad color ,better then the other i have its just plain purple with a little blue ..Now having 2 will i really need to monitor the calcium level,or is it not a big deal having 2.. Also being the size it is will it get enough food form the lights or do i need to feed it directly
 
If you don't believe me please feel free to prove me wrong. I have gotten farmed clams in the past with orange shells caused by ammonia dosing at the clam farms.
 
But doesn't it immediately turn into nitrates?

I think you have misinterpreted my comment. I'm not implying I don't believe you.
If you don't believe me please feel free to prove me wrong. I have gotten farmed clams in the past with orange shells caused by ammonia dosing at the clam farms.
