Oh, you’re serious, lol ! I thought it was a joke…

I ordered chaeto and that’s what I received.
I am no expert in macroalgae, so take it with a grain of salt. But to me it looks like red spaghetti

I wrote the store and they said dragon’s nest maybe.

I need to know if I should leave it in the refugium with pink light or put it in the display, whatever it is.
It could be. But IMO, it looks more like red spaghetti, I would trust the store though.

They said « might be » so not 100% sure. They think an employee made a mistake. Hopefully they send me chaeto.

I agree with you it looks more like red spaghetti, after researching on line.

This thread introduced me to names I hadn't heard of for this algae before - this algae does look to be both Red Spaghetti Algae, Dragon Nest Algae, and Ogo; they're all the same genus, and reportedly the same species, Gracilaria parvispora (at least a few of the pics I've seen of macros sold under those names were clearly different species in the same genus though).

Edit: to add, regardless of exact species, OP, your algae does seem to be a Gracilaria sp.

That’s what the store confirmed. They offered a store credit or refund but I said I would rather get some chaeto sent to me and they agreed to do it.

I’ll be waiting for my chaeto next week.
