Been using Reef Crystals since I started 4 years ago and my Alk has never been over 8.5.

I am looking into ESV now just because I found someone local that sells RC, and I'm uncomfortable with that kind of convenience.

I use reef crystals on my 75 also but the mix always comes to an alk around 8-8.5, doing 10-15 gal water changes weekly. Maybe you received a funky batch?

I've used RC, Kent, RSCP and Salinity. I think Salinity and Kent are the two best of the bunch. Mixes really quick and not much residue.

I'm currently using Red Sea and have seen great results with it. I'm curious to try Tropic Marin when my Red Sea is done, though I only own one SPS, I've heard (and been told), it's the best..

I've used Kent, IO Reef Crystals, and Red Sea.. Kent and RS have given the best results, this far.

I.O. Reef Crystals here and I've noticed I don't have to dose as much for Calcium and Magnesium.

Instant Ocean for me, I think it was the only salt mix there was when I started and saw no reason to change.

Used Red Sea Coral Pro but using the balling light method, the parameters were too high. Just got some ESV in and will be using that once I finish off my RSCP.

I was using Instant Ocean Reef Crystals for about two years. I recently switched to Brightwell Aquatics NeoMarine. My Zoanthids and Mushrooms are doing so much better now. They are expanding more and their colors are more vibrant. The Brightwell salt mix does not leave a nasty film behind in my mixing vessel either. Which makes clean up between batches easier. ;-)
I'm pleasantly surprised that it has made such a dramatic improvement in my tank. All of the "work" that I put into my tank is now yielding greater rewards. That's pretty cool !!!

Was using Reef Crystals for a very long time, but thought I'd "up my game" and try out Tropic Marin Pro. Hey, it's one of the most expensive, so it should be one of the best, right? Well, just fired up my SECOND bucket that mixes ALK at 4.39DKh. Gonna turn this $100 bucket into weed killer and go back to RC. It may turn brown if you mix it too long, but at least my parameters were stable. 430/8.5 all day, every day.
