I have a 65 gal tank and the current livestock is a pair of mocha ocellaris clowns, a six line wrasse, a fire fish, and a pair of green chromis. I want some color but want some options for what will get along with what I currently have.

Tomini Tang. When I first started it did well in my 55g, upgraded to my 90g, and now 5-6 years later it's in my 150g. Great fish, colorful, peaceful to most other fish, very hardy and this particular tang stays very small relative to other tangs in the hobby.

I really want a tang! I just keep hearing that my tank is too small for one and I don't want to be crucified by the tang police. The tank is only 36" wide.

Royal Gramma, Flame Hawkfish, or Midas Blenny. All different species and colors from the fish you currently have.

I've got a 60g and picked up a baby blue tang. By the time he's an adult I'll have upgraded. They are great fun! However watch out for the tang police!!! They are not to be toyed with and their power and brutality is not to be trifled with!

Years ago my ex-wife (( wife at the time )) surprised me with a tang (( want to say it was an P. hepatus )), for my 58 -- 3 feet long -- and it was painful for me to watch it swim back and forth in about a second. IMO/E, 36 inches isn't long enough for any tang -- should purchase fish that can spend their lifespan in the tank that you currently have, upgrades don't always happen, life can/will get in the way. Been about 10 years since I thought I would have my big tank.

Of course it is your tank, and your choice, just sharing my opinion/experiences.

Important to note that when some of us plan for things those things always happen. Should something occur making this impossible it's quite easy to rehome a fish.
