What would you charge?

Someone is interested in some of my colonies. I’m not sure I’m interested in selling but what would you charge for this candy cane colony (too many heads to count, about the size of a large grapefruit when fully fluffed) and the acan colony below next to it below (4 x 4 when fully fluffed).

Simply put, I would ask what they are willing to offer and decide if the offer would allow me to part ways with it. It’s not my coral so I can’t assign it a value.

People here will have all kinds of numbers based on what they see at retail. None of that matters unless you are in business and /or trying to be competitive with business.

My lfs sells candy cane by heads so that would be $35x heads

Other stores sells maybe 2-5 heads for $30-50

So many 300-500 for the neon candy cane

In 2022 this one was offered in the marketplace for $150 OBO. It’s listed as sold, but no indication of the best offer accepted.

My LFS has the same acan, about the same size, listed for $175 if that helps. Since you don’t have any overhead costs, if its a friendly swap I’d probably charge $100-125. Not sure about the candy cane.

Thanks all for the responses! Seems like this person was trying to super lowball me. I tend to be about the way a coral looks rather than think about name or size. These two guys have been in my system for several months and have grown quite a bit and they were trying to offer just a bit more than what I paid so I was wondering whether it was fair.

Sounds like I should keep them and keep enjoying them!
