Feel a little silly asking but im gonna anyway

New system Breeding rack 80 gal runing only 50 now tho.: couple chunks of LR and a gallon worth of K1 fluidized media

ammonia 1.0
Nitrites are 0
Nitrates are 10

curing Bucket 5 gall: Rocks,heater, powerhead

Ammo off the chart
rites 1.0
rates 10

existing 75 mixed lps,sps up for 4 yrs:
ammo 0
rites 0
rates 0

Whats with the new system? Why dont i have any nitrites? with the ammo reading 1 fish are fine. no sign of stress eating well look great. But the ammo isnt going up or down for a week now..... thoughts anyone ? I would say my testing kit is off but my main DT reads spot on ....

Are you using RO/DI water with 0 TDS?

Yep well its at 1 tds but ive gone up to 10 without issues. I have some on order now. Just cause it time to switch anyway. lol

Could be ammonia in source water. You also may not have enough live rock in the breeding system to process the ammonia fast enough.

Ill test my new water. I have multiple sponges in the water from our main reef ( seeded for 2 weeks) ..... i guess ill just keep an eye on the fish.

But why do i have no nitrites ??? If i have ammo, and rates it stands to reason i should have nitrites.......
