What's the best skimmer

If you have the room for it get a Reef Octopus 110SSS. I am running the 150SSS on my 75g and I am pretty happy with it. Its quiet, skims all the time, comes apart fully to clean and at the price point is a great skimmer. My only complaint is my cup is a little hard to remove and put back on, wish it was a twist on. This is my second RO skimmer and I have been very happy. Every time need a new skimmer I do research, shop around but find myself coming back to Reef Octopus. I also ran a SCA 302 on a 40B and a 75g and it was great for what was at the time a $90 skimmer but now its the same price as Reef Octopus and not as high quality. The SCA 301 is an option, has a small foot print and can be found on ebay for about $100 if you are on a tight budget and want a good skimmer.
