was thinking of switching from metal halides to t5 to play with spectrum a little more. i have a 6 bulb ati fixture and i wanted to pick all of your brains as to which bulbs would make my SPS dominated tank grow and pop :)

It's all a matter of personal preference. I like 2 blue plus, 1 Fiji purple and one super actinic. I would probably add another blue plus and an actinic to a 6 bulb fixture.

in my ATI 6 lamp set up, i have 4 ReefSpec Actinic, one bluewhite and one pink. I have a SPS dominant tank and everything seems to be doing well.

8 lamps 6 ati blue plus 2 purple pluss , some times ill swap out one of the blue plus's for a coral plus,

I run two blue plus, an actinic, and an aquablue plus on one tank.

The other tank I have two blue plus two actinics, and a bank of LEDs. Best colors ever with this combo.

4 blue plus 2 coral plus. Or 4 blue 2 purple. Both good combos for sps tank.

Thank you everyone :) I'm making the switch from metal halide radiums not because I'm not pleased, i just want to play around with spectrum a bit and believe it or not , my halides leave shadows in my tank and don't cover my entire 75 gallon. as for t5 bulbs for my SPS's i was thinking of trying 4 blue+'s , 1 aqua blue special and 1 coral plus. will this be ok?

When I ran them it was the go to one. Maybe things changed lol I know the reefspec bulbs are good

everyone keeps telling me to stick with ATI. I'm not familiar with other bulbs. should i look into other bulbs? or is ATI the way to go in your opinion?

Some Red sea bulbs are really good. like the reefSpec 15,000K bulb.

also the reefspec 22,000k witch is a Actinic bulb is really good.

gotten really good color with these 2 in play with my ati bulbs.

What do y'all think about the Geismann T5 bulbs? I recently switched some of the stock "sea world" bulbs I got with my Chinese 6 bulb fixture for some Geismanns. I like them so far, have seen some growth on my LPS. I only have one sps, a milli, which I've had about a month, with no growth. But it otherwise seems happy!
