I discovered this in my tank this morning. There is one other spot with the same thing on the other side of the tank. Both spots are relatively small, about 1/4" dia. Can anyone identify? Thanks in advance for any help offered!

Everytime I'm pretty confident I know what something is I find out I'm wrong. For my own knowledge how do you know it isn't a pineapple sponge?
Don’t worry about it. A pineapple sponge should be white and looks like a pineapple. Usually more common in newer tanks. There are thousands of different types of sponges and pineapple is one of the few that I can recognize and name.

I thought it looked like a pineapple sponge where you are looking at it from the end (kinda like looking through the hole in it). I assumed the color was due to the lighting in the tank.
