What's wrong with my leather!

I got this specimen the other day. I dipped it and it seemed fine. Now one piece of it is turning brown and has two lines on it. Any help would be appreciated.

Pretty tough to tell from your pictures.
I can say that leathers can be a little fickle. They will look bad for a few days and bounce back like nothing happened.
Give it a few days.

Ok I thought it was a worm of some sort. Or it is getting too much light. Hopefully it comes back.
