My magnifica anemone which I have had for over 4 years has split once since I have had it. When it eventually it took months to do so it seems. It starts with it stretching over to another rock close by each day only to retract back in the evening. After months and months of this activity, eventually it split.

For the last 6 months or so I have noticed this behaviour all over again and my nem has either split again or is very close to doing so. Not so easy seeing the complete split till they move apart a little. However, all the signs are there.

My magnifica before splitting.

Now with it either split or ckose to completing it's split.
These last 2 photos were taken with my lights off hence the colour.

This is uncanny! I was about to post some pics of my mag, that is also about 4 years in my tank and I believe is splitting. It’s been acting strange (pinched and stretching) and has what appears to be forming a new mouth. What are your thoughts @atoll ?

What's even stranger is that I had that exact color morph and it was the only one to ever split for me.

Hard to tell exactly at the moment if the split has happened. Looks like it may have ir almost has with both nems suozed up tight against one another. Of course it might still be going through splitting. I could try parting it to see if it has split but I don't want to do that.
Photo taken with lights off this morning.
