You can get the gel packs locally at Walmart or other similar stores for $1 or less. They are in the back by the coolers, bikes, and fishing gear area.

You can get the icepacks in multiple sizes from uline.com and staples.com. The last time I ordered insulated shippers from staples, I added a box of 36 eight ounce "ice-brix" for 19.98. It was shipped free because the order was over $50.

my town is completely out of instant cold packs like i've used in the past.

do those pre-frozen blocks/packs work well to ship? (the ones that have the blue stuff in them). i use larger ones for coolers of food and my lunch that i take to work, seem to work well.

i found some dirt cheap ones at walmart that are really tiny. i just have to freeze them overnight.

anyone have any experience using these? they are so tiny, i cant imagine them weighing more than a couple oz. really.

I've had things shipped with little bags of water, that I'm sure were ice when they left the shipper. Of course they were completely melted upon arrival but it's something to think about.

thats a really cool idea
Pun intended?

I dunno about ice--I am very controversial on this topic.

I am looking for ice that gets cold after shipment.

Ice is cold at the start when you don't need it. I sort of feel that it could lead to larger swings in temp.

I ship a lot--this is a pretty HOT topic for me!! ( I can't help myself sometimes...)
