Does anyone know a place to order magnets like the acrylic encased ones so I can make some frag racks?

So the ceramic ones will not rust and or leech in the salt water right?

I would buy them from magnet4sale.com and magnet4less.com when I was making frag racks for myself and friends.
I bought the 1" x 3/8" neodymium magnets, but would have to use a polyester casting resin to protect them and attach it all to the eggcrate material.
I also bought 1" x 1/4" black epoxy coated neodymium magnets for the outside magnets.
While they were epoxy coated, and they were used on the outside of the tank, they did tend to rust/corrode after a year or so.
The inside ones never had problem as long as the polyester resin was intack.

I did run across some rubber coated neodymium magnets a few years back that held up for years without any rust, but I can't remember where I got them.

For magnets that are saltwater safe, ceramic magnets are best, but they just don't have the holding power through much more than 1/4" glass/acrylic.

I mostly buy the epoxy coated and spray another coat or three over them them with Black Appliance Epoxy. Or I encase them completely within acrylic. Like on this Probe Holder project below

Actually since I am such a DIY pack rat I salvaged the 1-1/4" acrylic grab bar when I demo'd our shower enclosure during bath remodel....lol
That's a 5/8" mortising bit I'm using for the neo magnet and for those pieces I just flipped over once drilled out and glued in the magnet then glued onto bracket piece sealing in the magnet with Weld-On 16. The other attaching magnetic pieces since being wet enclosed by capping off with a piece 1/8" acrylic (blue)

Thanks Marty

I'll post up a new thread here in a bit showing the whole project.

Cheers, Todd
