I am looking for few jumbo socks. The 7"x10" 200 micron works well on my 500 g system but trying to go more than 48 hr between it overflowing.

Does anyone know where i can buy 200 micron fabric? I am more than willing to cutt and stitch and use clamps to hold ut up so i can get 5 days out of them

I have the sump space to add super size ones. I was using a large tray with sponge and filter floss that gave me 7+ days but the socks are more easy to clean by hand then the 5-10 min to clean a 16"×10"filter sponge.

Could you make a manifold / sock holder that had 2 or 3 (or 10!) micron bags in series that would give you time before the last one is overwhelmed? It would take some space but my sump has a two bags in series with a tray they snap in and as one fills the water flows over to the next bag.

I really like these nylon mesh, mine sit in basically a plastic box with holes cut for the rings to sit in.

Yeah i have the space but i clean the socks by hand and find the socks with rings a pain to turn inside out. They also dont last as long as the drawstring bags.

I used this tray for 1 year. Works good but not as good as the sock. The sock takes a few minutes to clean and the sponge has to be rinsed and squeezed in water about 20 times until it runs almost clean

I hate cloth, nylon rinses clean easily. It doesn’t have the “rug” surface to collect the dirt in.

Blast it with a hose, no need to invert (no more reaches into the dirty bag!)

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
