Which bulb?!??

Looking for a 250 watt de MH bulb, i want 14k or up ( not to blue not to yellow) would like a good balance between growth and color...which is the best bulb to get?

Im not worried about the cost,just want whats best!

Pheonix or Radium. not sure if Radium makes a de though. Ive used both but think I like the Radiums better. 20k Radium is about the same color as the 14k Pheonix to me

Ushio, not sure exactly how their de is but the se is fantastic. Not to mention it is the choice of Sanjay (I think that's how its spelled ) the lighting guru. With tons of extensive testing Ushio 14k wins.

+1 with Ushio, If i wasnt running LEDs Id be back to Ushios

150w is Radium's only DE aquarium bulb, sadly, or that would be a no-brainer IMO. (Depending on the fixture, switching to a SE socket is neither hard nor difficult...then I would go Radium.)

Phoenix/HexArc is a popular second choice. XM makes a really nice 15k and 20k.

What ballast are you running?

Thanks guys, im going to go with the Ushio 14k. Looked up the rating and customer reviews and this seems to be the best of the best.
