Do you know if a single unit is compatible with multiple devices?

Yes. I have one Apex, controlling two tanks. Eb8's on each tank. Ph and temp on each tank. Lighting, circulation and many other components being controlled. I have a pm1 and wxm (wireless vortech control) module on second tank. Depending on the devices you intend to control you may need various modules.

How the controllers are mounted near the displays in this thread. I've built my 200DD, and I'm playing around with about 5 different mounting ideas. Not sure I like any of them!

This is my head unit and some of the input modules. It does not have a display. It is web based. You just need a phone, tablet or computer.

For me, I haven't made up my mind where I want to mount everything. It's either mounting to the stand built around my sump which supports reactors and a refugium or it's mounting on an equipment board on the wall. Everything is on chairs until I make up my mind.

That is slick! You should work for NASA!
I do repair and maintain ion implanters in a semiconductor factory. Is that close enough to NASA?
How do you like the Archon? How great is it compared to the RKE? Do they have customer support forums?
It is a difference of night and day between it and a RKE. I would not like to go back. It has become a very stable platform. I have had it since December 2014.

I'm in marketing, so pretty much anything techie is closer to NASA than me!

When I was setting things up I took a photo of the stand without the side panels on. it gives a better view of the electronics compartment with the head unit. The side panels have a vent at the bottom of the panel. I also had the back cabinet off. This is where the power bars for the tank are. Photos below.

So what can you tell us about the comparison of the two, Apex v Vertex?

The Cerebra is new and uses standard USB ports. All the outlets are relay outlets (Apex only has two), and it comes with lots of extras that you have to pay for separately with Apex like additional pH port, oxygen sensor port, level sensor ports, and a par meter port. It also comes with an awesome display, and I can download updates directly from the display which can also browse the internet. The equipment is high end and it has a high end look and feel to it. There's nothing I did with my classic that I can't do with my Cerebra. Not sure what else to write other than it's still in beta and they're not shipping any more units to vendors until it's out of beta.
