Exactly. Most fish available in the aquarium trade won't school, but rather shoal. Many cardinals will shoal, as well as anthias. Some people have luck with blue/green chromis but that wasn't the case with me. I bought about 5 of them and they whittled down to a single fish over the course of a couple months. I REALLY like the look of a group of longspine cardinalfish.

Most won't school but they will shoal. I've got 10 fiji blue/green chromis.

Yep... Apogon leptacanthus. Make sure you buy a BUNCH of them from the start though. You can't add more of them down the road without severe casualties. Do about 1.5 times the final amount that you ideally want.

I saw a very large tank with about 40 to 50 Yellow Tangs in it.
It may not have been a school of them, but was very impressive.

I have 9 oranges lined cardnals and 4 Bartletts anthias in my tank, the leopard will flash at them when they spread out in the tank. In general Schooling is a survival tactic that is discarded once estabished in our tanks.

Resplendant Anthias. I had a group of 5 in my 120. I wish I had a bigger display for a bigger group. They're really beautiful.
