Which Skimmer (Decisions, Decisions)

I am thinking of upgrading my skimmer.


Do I go with one of the nice controllable ones?

- RLSS R8-I 8" Internal Skimmer with Speed Controlled DC5000 Pump

- Octopus Diablo 8" Skimmer with DC Controllable Pump


Or is it worth it to lose the control-ability for a higher gallon rating?

- SKIMZ SM 202 Monzter E-Series - External Protein Skimmer

Curious why you want such a large skimmer for a 57g tank (according to your signature).

Going that big on a tank that size will be inefficient. Have a look at skimmers with a 6" body, they will work much better for you.

I can't comment on the controllable since they are so new to the hobby.
